Hello, Potential New Members!
MEET SOPHIE
2023-2024 vp: membership
Dear Potential New Members,
My name is Sophie Crane and I am Delta Gamma’s VP: Membership. I am so excited for recruitment and on behalf of Delta Gamma, we cannot wait to meet you!
Recruitment is a unique process and probably one most of you have not experienced anything like. While this can feel scary, it is also so exciting. Recruitment is an opportunity to find lifelong connections and a home away from home. It is also an experience that is uniquely yours, no two people will experience recruitment the same and that is what makes it so special.
When I was a PNM, my favorite question to ask chapters was “Why did you choose Delta Gamma?” Now as a recruiter, it is my favorite question to answer. I chose Delta Gamma because every time I walked through the doors, I felt at home. I knew I could be myself, and I never felt like I needed to put on a show. The conversations I had solidified this feeling. The girls I talked to were so cool, and I wanted to be just like them in four years. Three years later, I can confidently say Delta Gamma has become my home, and the relationships I’ve made and opportunities I have had in DG have helped me become a person I would have looked up to as a PNM. This has been because of the endless opportunities for leadership positions, service opportunities, and sisterhood in Delta Gamma that have lifted me up and pushed me to be a better person.
I cannot imagine what my college experience would have been like had I not gone through recruitment, trusted the process, and ran home to Delta Gamma. The forever friendships, unwavering support, and genuine kindness I have found is more than I ever could have hoped for. I look forward to helping you all find a place you can call home and making your recruitment process as meaningful as it was for me. Embrace the craziness that is recruitment, and trust that whatever is meant to be, will be!
With love,
Sophie Crane

The New Member Experience
information for potential new members & families regarding the new member period
DEAR POTENTIAL NEW MEMBERS & FAMILY,
Welcome to the Do Good Sisterhood! The Delta Gamma Fraternity is founded on principles of friendship, social responsibility, promoting educational and cultural interests, and developing one’s character. By joining the Saint Louis University chapter of Delta Gamma, you will be joining a strong community of members who will love, support, accept, and challenge you to be the best version of yourself.
After accepting a bid to Delta Gamma, new members will begin an eight week period of transitioning into the chapter with the help of the New Member Team – meetings will be focused on building intentional relationships with their member class and the rest of the chapter. The New Member Team will be hosting events for your child and their new friends such as a New Member Retreat, movie nights, study groups, sisterhood events, and many other activities aimed at making them feel welcomed and valued in our chapter.
We can’t wait to meet you and look forward to seeing all the ways you will grow in Eta Theta! If you have any questions, feel free to contact anyone on our New Member Team listed below. We would be happy to answer any questions you or your family may have about Delta Gamma, Bid Day, and/or the New Member period.
On behalf of Delta Gamma, we welcome you to our amazing sisterhood!
With love,
Ellie Wight
