Hello, Potential New Members!
MEET MEG
2022-2023 vp: membership
Dear Potential New Members,
My name is Meg Benington, and I am Delta Gamma’s VP: Membership! I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my love for Delta Gamma with all of you. I am so glad that you chose to go through recruitment and the chapter is so excited to meet you!
Recruitment has the potential to be incredibly intimidating. Some of you might be wondering if this process is “right” for you. The thing is, recruitment introduces you to a variety of individuals with different majors, passions, interests, and personalities. This is an opportunity to meet people you might not have met otherwise. You never know, you might have a conversation with someone during this process that will turn out to be your best friend. You might meet someone with the same major that turns out to help you through your most difficult classes. You could find a group of people that supports you during your hardest times in college. This is what I love so much about recruitment - you find YOUR people.
I have always been drawn to a strong sense of community. While I felt this at SLU from my very first days on campus, I wanted to be a part of an even tighter-knit community. This is exactly what I found in Delta Gamma. It is this chapter that has brought me my closest friends (and roommate!), and has allowed me to grow in more ways than I could have imagined. This is my third year in Delta Gamma, and I continue to get to know new people every semester that make this chapter a home for me. These are the people that celebrate my victories and support me through the difficulties. There are countless opportunities for leadership, service, and sisterhood. I feel the impact of this community constantly - through the support when I step out of my comfort zone into a leadership position, the genuine joy of doing service with other Delta Gamma’s, and pure happiness of seeing other DG’s waving to me as I walk down West Pine. You will get to know many different chapters this weekend, and my only hope is that you find your own community, no matter which chapter it may be.
Be yourself throughout this process - there is no “correct” answer to any question. We just want to get to know YOU!! Enjoy the process, keep an open mind, and look for the people that make you feel at home. I am so excited for all of you and the members of Delta Gamma cannot wait to meet you.
So my love,
Meg Benington

The New Member Experience
information for potential new members & families regarding the new member period
DEAR POTENTIAL NEW MEMBERS & FAMILY,
Welcome to the Do Good Sisterhood! The Delta Gamma Fraternity is founded on principles of friendship, social responsibility, promoting educational and cultural interests, and developing one’s character. By joining the Saint Louis University chapter of Delta Gamma, you will be joining a strong community of members who will love, support, accept, and challenge you to be the best version of yourself.
After accepting a bid to Delta Gamma, new members will begin an eight week period of transitioning into the chapter with the help of the New Member Team – meetings will be focused on building intentional relationships with their member class and the rest of the chapter. The New Member Team will be hosting events for your child and their new friends such as a New Member Retreat, movie nights, study groups, sisterhood events, and many other activities aimed at making them feel welcomed and valued in our chapter.
We can’t wait to meet you and look forward to seeing all the ways you will grow in Eta Theta! If you have any questions, feel free to contact anyone on our New Member Team listed below. We would be happy to answer any questions you or your family may have about Delta Gamma, Bid Day, and/or the New Member period.
On behalf of Delta Gamma, we welcome you to our amazing sisterhood!
With love,
Abbey Zabat
