We will be there for you.
Eta Theta - Saint Louis University
HELLO AND WELCOME
TO THE DO GOOD SISTERHOOD OF ETA THETA AT SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY!
Thanks for taking the time to take a peek into our sisterhood. My name is Ayden, and I have the honor of serving as chapter president.
Life is composed of never-ending twists and turns, and in Delta Gamma, we strive to lift each other and support one another through maintaining high ideals of friendship, education, character, and social responsibility.
"What does it actually mean to be a Delta Gamma?"
To answer that, let me tell you a quick story.
On Bid Day my first year at SLU, I opened my bid from DG and ran home (yes, you literally run) to the Eta Theta chapter. Every person I met was kind, inclusive, and welcoming. I was introduced to so many new faces, many of whom have become my closest friends, and was filled with so much love from so many people I hadn’t even met yet.
The truth is, however, that in the midst of the excitement, I was completely overwhelmed and I left early. Luckily, I didn’t leave alone. I left with another new member, and instead of going back to our individual dorm rooms, we sat on campus talking for over an hour about recruitment, our classes, and the transition to college in general. I was surprised that it was so easy to be so vulnerable with this girl who, just that same morning, had been a stranger. In that moment, I leaned on her, and she leaned on me, and we held each other up.
On our very first day of being Delta Gammas, we learned that strength is found when we allow ourselves to be supported. That same support is what inspired me and gave me the strength to ask our chapter to trust me to lead them this year, and the love they have shown me in return is immeasurable.
This is the culture of Delta Gamma: It exists because each and every one of us lives it every single day. It's a culture I’m proud to represent when I wear my letters and one I believe in with my entire heart.
"What else do DGs do in the community?"
If you're wondering how we spend our time, our answer is simple: WE DO GOOD.
Our motto is "Do Good," and we put it into action through a deep commitment to our philanthropy, Service for Sight. We are incredibly unique in the panhellenic world because our philanthropic foundation was entirely founded and is actively operated by Delta Gammas. Here is a snapshot of how we give back:
The Delta Gamma Center (DGCKids): This incredible local center was actually started right here in St. Louis by Delta Gamma alumnae. Our members volunteer year-round for events and activities that help children who are blind or visually impaired reach their full potential through specialized, family-centered services. We are so lucky to have one of the five total centers in the U.S. located in St. Louis!
Kids Vision for Life: We partner with this amazing organization to provide vision screenings for children in the St. Louis community, ensuring that vision health access is attainable for everyone.
Anchorsplash & Anchorslam: On a national level, we host major campus fundraising events for the Delta Gamma Foundation. Anchorsplash is a synchronized swimming competition where various campus organizations create teams to participate. Anchorslam is a basketball tournament fundraiser that we proudly brought back to campus this past spring!
“Why Delta Gamma?”
While I could give you one thousand reasons why I chose and continue to choose Delta Gamma, the one I keep coming back to is this: There are few experiences in life that leave you deeply connected to over one hundred people around you. You learn from them, you laugh with them, and hope to be like them in so many ways. They show you grace and teach you patience. They exemplify leadership and what it means to truly Do Good in every aspect of life. Being a Delta Gamma is all of that. This sisterhood firmly holds you up in every way, giving you a foundation of support you can always rely on.
I’ve seen every kind of woman find a home here. I’m so grateful for the diverse ideas, opinions, and backgrounds our members bring because they allow us to be ever-growing and changing. When I wear our letters, I feel incredibly proud to represent these kind, intelligent, ambitious women whom I admire so deeply.
As I head into my senior year, I can’t wait to catch a glimpse of what the future of this chapter holds and see the ways that our new and active members inspire each other to lead and grow. I’m forever grateful for this lovely, embracing, and encouraging home.
Whether you are a potential new member, an alumna, or a visitor, we hope you get a true sense of what makes Eta Theta so special.
L+ITB,
Ayden Wells
2025-2026 president - Eta Theta Chapter
